Riding Lessons
Riding Lessons for Horse Owners:
Kangaroo Valley Horses specialise in assisting horse owners to develop confidence and skills on the ground and in the saddle while advancing the education of your horse. Riders are welcome to float in and float out for lessons or, to book a package of lessons where your horse remains on Agistment with Kangaroo Valley Horses throughout your program.

Lessons are available in confidence building, working on the ground, training, seat correction, riding independently in the open, show jumping from ground poles up, sporting, dressage, & bare back riding.
Private Riding Lessons
Weekly & Fortnightly Riding lessons are available for beginner, intermediate and experienced riders wishing to gain confidence in the saddle, for seat correction and to develop riding and horsemanship skills riding the KVH schooled horses.
Riders learn the basic skills of riding through to extending and correcting existing skills with experienced and qualified senior level riding instructors accredited by Horse Safety Australia.
Private Riding Lessons are tailored to suit the individual requests of the rider. Instruction is also available for show jumping, sporting, working equitation & bare back riding.
Private Riding Lessons run on weekdays only and can be arranged before or after school and work hours.
Private Riding Lesson Costs
Cost $85.00 per lesson on a riding school horse
Cost $65.00 per lesson riding your own horse

Minimum Age for Riding Lessons
10 years old is generally the minimum age for riding lessons. Younger children may apply for a series of lessons if available at the time.
Please Note:
For the safety of each rider the current Weight Limit is 85kg to 90kg maximum. We apologize for this inconvenience to some riders.
Kangaroo Valley Horses are constantly training and educating horses to safely carry as many riders as possible of differing heights, weights and riding abilities.
Small Group Riding Lessons:
For regular Intermediate to Experienced riders of all ages.
Small group riding lessons are designed to further the skills of intermediate to experienced riders. Please note: Riders are required to participate in at least one Private Riding Lesson prior to riding in the regular group lessons.
Group lessons run at regular intervals throughout the public school term. These lessons are an affordable way to accelerate riding and horsemanship skills working on the ground and in the saddle. Riders are welcome to join these lessons riding their own horse approved by the riding instructors, or to ride and work with the Kangaroo Valley Riding School horses.
Small group lessons begin on the ground safely catching, grooming and preparing a horse to ride followed by ground work instruction and ridden instruction in the arena, sporting paddock and out in the open developing confidence and skills in a variety of disciplines.
The group lessons are excellent preparation for competing at the Inter Schools Championships, gymkhanas, equitation events and shows, or simply for the love of riding and working with horses. Open to riders confident in the rising trot as a minimum requirement. Adults and children welcome.
Cost $70.00 per rider or $50.00 riding your own horse.
Casual Bookings for Small Group Lessons:
These lessons are designed for beginner to experienced riders and are ideal for school groups, corporate groups and family and friend groups. Lesson costs are dependent on your choice of program or the duration of an individual lesson.

Kangaroo Valley Horses Riding Instructors are accredited by Horse Safety Australia. Instructors are experienced riders who love to ride, encourage and to teach!
TRAIL RIDES
The minimum age for Trail Riding unless pre-approved by the KV Horses riding instructors is 14 years old. Younger children may apply for a trail ride after completing a series of riding lesson with the Kangaroo Valley Horses instructors.
Trail Ride Costs:
1.5 to 2 hour rides commencing with a warm up in the arena $150.00 per rider.
Long Trail Rides from morning until afternoon
stopping for a BYO lunch along the way, commencing with a warm up in the arena, $220.00 per rider.
